There is only one supercar I love more than the Zonda, and we'll get to that one tomorrow. But for now, here's my ode to the silver beast I'd love to put in my garage:

Clearly, I like cars. This interest was actually spawned when my husband and I started watching Top Gear (the UK version). Up until then, I had no concern with the motoring world, and couldn't tell you the difference between a Ford and a Chevrolet (no matter how much the kids in my hometown debated over the two).

Now, there have been a lot of cars featured on Top Gear over the years, but this one deserves a special mention, and a day in my theme week.



The Top Gear guys traveled to Botswana for a special. For these international challenges, they're usually each given a sum of money to buy a car for the duration of their time in the country. Richard Hammond bought a 1963 Opel Kadett, promptly declared it "the happiest car in the world," and named it Oliver. The car performed incredibly through all of the challenges, and remained nearly unscathed... until they got to the river. Hammond then had it shipped back to the UK and restored.

 It's Superbowl Sunday! Which means, of course, that I spent all day playing with makeup, dyeing my hair, and playing fetch with my cat Ivy. I've been oblivious to the pre-pre-pre-game shows, the commercials (except for a few, which I watched on YouTube-- I was excited for The Avengers trailer and the Ferris Bueller spot), and the sport itself. Now I know how the rest of the world feels while I'm glued to my TV watching the Frozen Four, and the whole world is oblivious to college hockey.

Really, this Sunday was most relevant to me because it meant the beginning of my space theme, and I was excited to do these eyes, inspired by a spiral galaxy:



I started with Lancome's Ciel du Soir all over my eyes, brow to lash, and lined the bottom with a thick line. Then I applied Manly Palette #43 from the lashes up to the socket and lined the bottom, leaving some of the Ciel du Soir showing. Finally, I applied my blackest black, from Colorevolution, to my lids.

For the arms of the galaxy, I used Colorevolution's gray, applying it with a heavier hand toward the center, and put a dash of Colorevolution's white in the center (the gray and white can be found in the Starry Night stack). I lined with Buxom Lashliner in Leatherette, and finished the look with Stila Major Lash Mascara.

One month down, eleven to go! Today, I went out in my gorgeous new red cloche and red lips to match, so I wanted something a little smoky on my lids. I decided to go away from my usual shadows (after all, that's what this challenge is all about!), got my metallic shadows, and created this.



It was a pretty simple look to achieve. I started with white in the corner, applied the gray all over my lid, then dusted the black over the outer third, concentrating more of the pigment on the outside of my eyelid. Then I blended Lancome's Ciel du Soir from crease to browbone, lined, and put mascara on... and that was it!

And now, on to my New Year's resolution. Sure, I'm hoping to set down the chocolate (yeah right) and run a 5K (a little more likely), but my big resolution is a beauty challenge for myself. Ready?
