| Lilura Begiak: What's in a Name? "Lilura begiak" is a Basque phrase meaning "fascinated by the eyes." The first beauty item I ever owned was a pale blue eyeshadow that I wore every day in sixth grade. From there, I collected so many eye colors that they took up an entire drawer in my desk. Certain colors, when I wore them, made me feel sassy, or mysterious, or demure. While my artistic friends painted, my face became my canvas. The eyes, it is said, are the windows to the soul; they are the focal point of our face, and they can, with a single glance, captivate and fascinate. About Me  |
